Burglary suspect arrested in Shrewsbury

Police arrested a burglary suspect in Shrewsbury early today after the security alarm was activated at business premises.

Officers attending the premises in Arlington Way found they were insecure. They searched the area and arrested a 35-year-old man nearby in Featherbed Lane at around 1.15am.

He was taken into custody on suspicion of going equipped to commit burglary.

Police also seized some equipment he was carrying.

The man remains in custody at Shrewsbury police station for questioning.
