Telford pensioner assaulted after confronting burglary suspect
Police are appealing for information after a pensioner was assaulted when he confronted a burglary suspect breaking into a neighbour's property.

The man - aged in his 70's was at home with his son at an address in Ketley, just off Wren's Nest Lane, when they heard a neighbour's house alarm sounding.
The pair called police and went to investigate and confronted two burglary suspects. The son, aged in his 40's, grabbed one of the suspects and took him out to the roadside.
His father grappled with the second suspect in the garden of the property but the offender grabbed a plank of wood and assaulted the pensioner with it, causing injuries to his hip. His son went to his aid and the two suspects ran off into Sinclair Gardens.
Police arrived within minutes but the offenders had fled.
Officers are investigating the incident, which occurred at around 1.20pm on Friday, and are appealing to anyone with information about the matter to come forward.
A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "This was a nasty incident in which an elderly man suffered unnecessary injuries to his hip. He was so shocked by what happened that he needed to stay in hospital overnight. Fortunately he is on the mend but is still very upset by the incident.
"Both of the suspects were injured as a result of the scuffles that took place and both may have been bleeding. We desperately want to hear from anybody who saw the offenders running away or who knows of any individuals who suffered unexplained injuries that day.
"These men clearly have no hesitation in using violence so it is imperative they are identified as quickly as possible.
"If you any information at all that will aid our enquiries, then we urge you to come forward."
Nothing was stolen from the property.
The offenders are described as white males, aged in the late teens, of slim build and around 5ft 8ins tall. One had fair hair and was wearing a black jacket and black jeans. The other had short, dark hair with a little bit of a moustache and was wearing black jeans, a black jacket and a green T-shirt.
Anyone with information should contact Telford Police on the new non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
