Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after thousands of pounds worth of electrical items were stolen from a college in Telford.

Thief steals electrical items from Telford College

A thief entered Telford College of Arts and Technology in Wellington while it was still open for night classes, sometime between 5.50pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday and stole around £3,000 worth of goods.

It is believed the offender entered an empty classroom before stealing the items and then leaving through an emergency exit door.

Items stolen include an overhead projector, a desktop computer and a LG monitor.

Police are investigating the matter and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "The suspect or suspects are believed to have fled with the stolen goods through an emergency exit door onto Haybridge Road, which is near to the Bucks Head football ground.

"The college is in a residential area and we are hoping that a passer-by may have seen something that could help us with our investigation.

"If you were in the area at the time and saw anything of significance then please pick up the phone and call us."

Anyone with information should contact Telford Police on the new non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
