A car and valuables worth thousands of pounds have been stolen during a raid on a Shrewsbury home.

Thieves take car and valuables in Shrewsbury burglary

Burglars forced open the front door of the terraced home in New Park Street, Castlefields, sometime between 7pm on Sunday and 8.50am yesterday.

Once inside they made a full search of the premises before stealing car keys and making off in a blue Vauxhall Astra, registration number KF53GFZ, together with property worth around £7,000.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: "We are appealing for any information which might help us identify the offenders and trace the stolen property. Contact Shrewsbury police station on the non-emergency 101 number."

Among the items stolen were a Samsung 26-inch television, Dyson vacuum cleaner, Nintendo Wii console, a framed Peter Smith painting, clothing, a large selection of CDs, a Tom Tom sat-nav system, cash and jewellery including watches.

Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers independent charity by calling 0800 555 111, for which a reward may be paid.
