A Shropshire vintage vehicle club is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its annual rally with an event bigger and better than ever before – and the launch of a brand new website.

Shropshire vintage vehicle club celebrates anniversary

The Mid Shropshire Vintage Club held its first annual charity vintage vehicle show in 1988 and has since raised more than
£150,000 for local medical charities.

In 2012 they are marking the 25th anniversary of the rally with a two-day event at the Shropshire Showground in Berwick Road, Shrewsbury, on June 2 and 3 and are expecting an extra large turnout for the occasion.

They have also launched a brand new website www.midshropshirevintageclub.com where visitors can see the sorts of events on offer over the weekend.

Derek Sheedy, of the club, said: “For the last 21 years our rally has been a two-day event and has grown into one of the major events in the West Midlands. It is a firm favourite with exhibitors and the public alike, many of whom travel long distances to attend. Some exhibitors have been coming since the first rally was ever held in Atcham.

“Attractions at the 2012 rally include an auction of vintage vehicles and associated spares and collectables on the Saturday and displays of vintage vehicles of every kind.

“There is something of interest for all the family including craft and trade stalls, autojumble, fairground rides, shire horses and the well frequented beer tent and refreshment stands.

“Each year we feature a special tractor and in 2012 this will be International tractors and derivatives.”

Entry forms for the rally, auction, trade and autojumble and craft stalls are available to download on the new website, designed by It’s eeze Shrewsbury, along with more information about the weekend.

Tickets are £8, £7 for concessions and children can go free.
