Thieves have stolen a speedboat, trailer and water skis worth around £9,000 after braking into a property in Telford.

Thieves steal speedboat and water skies from Telford home

The items were taken from the garage of a house in Stoney Hill in Lightmoor some time between 9.15am and 2.30pm on Friday whist the owners were away from the property.

The thieves entered the garage, where the speed boat was stored on top of a trailer, and removed the boat and the trailer. Sets of children's and adults water skis were also stolen, along with three ski ropes and an inflatable banana boat.

Police are investigating the theft and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "The total value of the speed boat, trailer and water skis comes to around £9,000.

"This is a very unusual theft so we are hoping that somebody may have seen something that could help us with our enquiries.

"We want to hear from anybody who was in Lightmoor or the surrounding area that day and saw a vehicle towing a trailer and speedboat.

"The speed boat is described as a white Fletcher speed boat with blue stripes running along the side.

"It is rare to see a speed boat being transported in the Shropshire area so if you saw anything at all then we would really like to hear from you."

Anyone with information should contact Telford Police on the number 101. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
