Specialist team search for missing Shrewsbury man

The Severn Area Rescue Association is searching a stretch of the river close to the Castle Walk and Weir area of the River Severn.

Simon Rothwell, who is 36, was last seen at 12.30am on Friday 3 February when a taxi dropped him off on Abbotts Road in Monkmoor after a night out.

At approximately 7.45am the same morning several of his personal belongings were found in the Castle Walk area near the River Severn.

Police, friends and family have been trying to trace Simon, as of yet there have been no sightings of him since he went missing.

Simon is described as being white, 5ft 8inches tall, as having a ‘stocky’ build and short brown hair. When he was last seen Simon was wearing a dark coloured jacket, beige cords and black boots.
