Community First Responders take part in Wrekin Challenge
Telford and Wrekin Community First Responders today taking a spinal-boarded ‘patient’ up the Wrekin to raise funds.
Their ‘Wrekin Challenge’ taking place today, will see the team fully immobilise one of their own volunteers and carry them to the summit 1,350ft above the Shropshire plains.
The climb to the top and the return to the car park is expected to take approx. four hours.
Co-ordinator Steve Brown said: “The objective is to raise sponsorship to purchase equipment for our scheme now that our group has grown to 26 responders. Equipment such as medical kits, defibrillators and uniforms and to keep our scheme vehicle running 24x7 are all the items that we plan to spend the sponsorship money on.”
