Callers respond to Crimewatch Appeal on Shrewsbury drug dealer
A televised nationwide appeal for information about a Shrewsbury man wanted in connection with drugs offences brought a "promising" response, police said today.

The West Mercia Police appeal for information concerning the whereabouts of 53-year-old Robert Gamble was featured on last night's BBC Crimewatch programme.
Gamble went missing in January 2011 when he absconded from the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on January 18 when doctors removed from his body a package of cocaine valued at more than £8,000.
He has not been seen since but is thought possibly to be in the Brighton or Croydon areas where he is known to have links.
A CCTV picture of him in the hospital waiting room was shown on Crimewatch together with a passport photo.
Detective Constable Alex Sullivan, the investigating officer, said today: "There was a promising response to last night's appeal. We received five calls with significant information which is being followed up.
"I would also urge anyone else who can help us trace Gamble, to contact Shrewsbury CID on 0300 333 3000. Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111."
