Shropshire jobs lost as Game Group goes into administration
Workers from three Shropshire computer games stores were yesterday made redundant as The GAME Group went into administration.

Two Game stores in Telford Shopping Centre and Gamestation in Shrewsbury both closed their doors yesterday with 18 staff members being made redundant.
Administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) said 2,104 employees would be made redundant across the group this week.
The Game Group employs 385 staff at its headquarters in Basingstoke, with around 5,100 staff employed in its stores in the UK and Ireland.
The group also own stores in France, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Scandinavia and Australia, were around another 5,000 staff are employed.
The chain has suffered dire trading in recent months, while some suppliers have refused to stock the retailer as its worsening finances came under increased scrutiny.
Joint administrator and PwC partner Mike Jervis said: "Our priority is to continue trading the business as normal while we continue to pursue a sale. The recent job losses are regrettable but will place the company in a stronger position while we explore opportunities to conclude a sale.
“My team and I will be doing all we can to help the affected employees at this difficult time."
Refunds and exchanges have been put on hold, and the company has stopped taking pre-orders for new games.
Game reward cards and gift cards have been suspended.
