Police appeal following Burglary in Leegomery
Police in Telford are investigating following a burglary in Leegomery at an isolated address near Apley Wood early this morning.
At around 1.30am, a man who lives at the address was woken up by the sound of his dog barking downstairs. The man got out of bed and then noticed his security light coming on outside.
Having carefully made his way downstairs and found the front door wide open, the man then saw that a number of drawers had been opened in furniture on the ground floor and searched.
A police spokesman said: "On checking round his property the man reports that around £15 in cash, an iPod Touch and a Kodak digital camera are all missing.
"It seems likely that more items would have been taken had the dog not started barking and scared the thieves off.
"Police officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Apley area last night and anyone who believes they may have information about this burglary is asked to call police in Telford on 0300 333 3000.
"Alternatively, please remember Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111."
