Broken down car stolen from roadside in Telford

A woman left her car on the A442 at Queensway on Monday 2 April after it broke down at around 3pm.

The vehicle a blue Hyundi Amica was still in situ at 8am on Thursday 5 April.

But when the vehicle owner arrived to pick it up at around 6pm on Thursday 5 April, the vehicle had gone.

It is believed the vehicle has been stolen, possibly for scrap, and police are appealing for information.

Police are making enquiries, including carrying out checks at local scrapyards.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "The vehicle owner checked with the council and they had not taken it. Therefore, it is believed it has been stolen.

"The vehicle was not in a driveable condition so would have needed to have been placed on the back of a lowloader.

"If you have any information at all then we would really like to hear from you."

Anyone with information should contact Telford Police on 101.
