Thieves who broke into a Telford home have stolen thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and cash.

Telford family left upset following burglary

The thieves forced their way into the property in Station Road in Dawley some time between 12.15pm and 1pm on Wednesday.

They carried out a search in parts of the home before fleeing with sentimental jewellery, cash, concert tickets and personal documents.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "The victims are extremely upset.

"A lot of the jewellery was sentimental so they are eager for it to be returned.

"If you were in the area at the time and saw or heard anything out of the ordinary then we would really like to hear from you.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who is offered any jewellery or concert tickets for sale in suspicious circumstances."

Items of jewellery stolen include a man's gold bracelet, a ladies gold bangle with diamonds, a white metal Pandora bracelet with eight charms, a white metal charm bracelet full of various charm, a gold "hugs and kisses" bracelet, gold looped earrings with diamonds, a number of other gold hoop earrings and two gold fillings, which were boxed.

Also stolen were seven tickets to see Calendar Girls at the Grande Theatre, four tickets to see Westlife on Friday 8 June and three tickets to watch Dancing On Ice at the NIA on Sunday 29 April.

In addition, an amount of cash was stolen along with a marriage certificate, a medical card and birth certificates.

Around £10,000 worth of goods was stolen in total.

Anyone with information should contact Telford Police on 101.
