Campaigners against Newport supermarket plans to attend meeting
Campaigners against plans for a new supermarket in Newport will this evening attend a Telford & Wrekin Council planning meeting.
The meeting will take place at Telford civic offices from 6om this evening.
Campaigners from Save Newport who will be attending the meeting say the store would have a negative impact on the existing high street.
St Modwen Developments have applied for permission to build the 8,100m sq store which includes a restaurant and 530 space car park.
The application for the Sainsbury's store is part of a wider regeneration scheme for the town.
