A teenager girl has been left shocked after a man indecently exposed himself to her as she walked along a canal path in Newport.

Man exposes himself to teenage girl in Newport

The 18 year-old was walking along the path from Newport to Edgmond when the incident took place at around 1.10pm on Wednesday.

As she walked towards the end of the path, she noticed a man sitting on a bench. As she got closer the man indecently exposed himself, on seeing the man the girl walked away and contacted a friend.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "The canal path is well used by dog walkers so we are hoping that somebody saw the man at some point on the day the incident occurred.

"At the time of the offence the man was sitting on the bench which faces back towards Newport. He is described as a white male, aged in his 60's with short grey hair and light grey stubble to his face. He is described as being short in height.

"The victim was extremely shocked by what happened and turned around and walked back towards Newport.

"If you have any information at all then we would like to hear from you."

Anyone with information should contact Telford Police on 101. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
