Oswestry pensioner burglars found guilty of manslaughter
Two men charged with killing an Oswestry pensioner have today been found guilty of manslaughter following a trial at Stafford Crown Court.
Peter John Marston, 23, of Stafford, and Danny Keeble, 25, of no fixed abode, were both found to be guilty of the manslaughter of 87-year-old Charles Green.
As well as manslaughter, Peter John Marston was also found guilty of a charge of burglary. Keeble had already admitted a charge of burglary.
Mr Green, died on 2 June last year, a month after he was assaulted during a break-in at his home in Ambleside Road.
He had remained in hospital following the assault during the early hours of May 2, having received head, hip and arm injuries.
A video of Mr Green describing the attack filmed on a police headcam shorty after the incident was seen during the trial and formed a major part of the case.
Both men will be sentenced at a later date.
