Man has neck cut in Market Drayton assault

The man was attacked by five youths at around 11.30pm last night receiving a cut to his neck which needed stitching at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

Following the incident, the offenders - who were wearing hoodies - ran off towards the town centre.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "We are urging anyone who knows the identities of the people involved in this assault, to contact either Market Drayton police or Shrewsbury CID by calling 101.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the actual incident."
