Shropshire County Show visitors to enjoy packed event
Thousands of people will be visiting the Shropshire County Show at the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury today as the sunshine is set to boost the number of visitors.

Organisers have packed the showground with a whole host of entertainment for the family but have stayed true to the core of offering the farming community plenty to see and do.
This year has seen record entries of cattle and sheep, along with the return of the Heavy Horses and the poultry.
Thousands of the finest livestock will compete for big prize money and prestigious trophies. The most knowledgeable judges in the land and from overseas take part and many of the prized animals go on to achieve the highest championship status in the agricultural show calendar.
As well as top main ring events including the European Monster Trucks, tractor pulling and the Mid Shropshire Vintage parade, the event has more than 200 trade stands, agricultural workshops for toddlers, Baby Sensory experiences, the ’50 Year of Arthog’ display and climbing wall and much much more.
A brand new Kids Zone will allow entire families to enjoy the day at the Berwick Road Showground. For the first time Baby Sensory Shropshire will attend the event and will host sensory experiences for babies aged 0-13 months in the Shropshire County Show Kids Zone.
And 2012 will also see the debut of Compost Kids, art workshops for children from 15 months upwards run by Sam Pooley in Shrewsbury’s Market Hall.
