Thieves take advantage of hot weather in Telford
Householders in Telford are being reminded to keep their homes safe after police received reports of a couple of break-ins during the weekend when thieves accessed people's homes through windows left open due to the recent hot weather.

In the first incident thieves sneaked into a home in Kingsland in Arleston overnight on Saturday/Sunday via an insecure downstairs window.
The keys to the family vehicle were stolen from inside the property and the vehicle - a Ford Fiesta - was also stolen.
Then in a separate incident, thieves entered a property in Arleston Avenue in Arleston through an insecure downstairs window. A search was carried out downstairs and a Toshiba laptop computer and keys were stolen. The incident occurred overnight on Saturday/Sunday.
Police are investigating the incidents and are appealing to householders to remember to keep their home safe.
A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "It is important that we all keep our personal security tight in order to ensure that thieves don't spoil individuals' enjoyment of this warm weather and this forthcoming summer.
"Please remember to keep doors locked at all times when not in use and don't leave accessible windows open in unoccupied rooms.
"Remember to lock up properly before going to bed and only leave upstairs windows open and in rooms where people are sleeping.
"While the West Mercia area is generally a safe place to live, unfortunately some opportunist thieves do operate so it's important everybody takes all of the necessary precautions to protect themselves."
