Audi stolen following key theft in Telford
Thieves in Telford have stolen a car after breaking into the owner's home and stealing the keys.
The break-in happened at an address in Cherry Tree Close in Wellington some time between midnight and 6am on Thursday. Thieves entered the property and stole a set of car keys, an Apple Mac laptop and a diamond/platinum ring.
Offenders then left in the home owner's red Audi A4 estate, registration LT10 GZB.
A Telford Police spokeswoman said: "The family were asleep upstairs when the burglars entered the property.
"A quick search was carried out and thieves stole car keys, a laptop and a Tiffany ring worth £1,500. They then left and made off in the family car, which they stole off the drive.
"Police are investigating the break-in and would appeal to anyone with information to come forward. We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who has been offered a Tiffany ring for sale, or who saw a red Audi A4 estate being driven in the Telford area during the early hours of Thursday."
Anyone with information should call Telford Police on 101. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
