Police seize suspected pit-bull dogs in Wellington
Police in Wellington have executed warrants at two properties in the town following a tip off that illegal pit-bull type dogs were being kept.

Police officers from Wellington Local Policing Unit entered the properties yesterday and seized two dogs.
The dogs were seized under the 1991 Dangerous Dogs Act.
Both of the dogs will be examined to see if they match certain criteria that identify them as pit-bulls. If they breach the criteria laid down in the Act the dogs could eventually be returned to their owners with very stringent conditions or they could be destroyed.
Officers were assisted by specialist officers from West Mercia Police's dog section, who are trained in handling and identifying illegal dogs.
Wellington Local Policing Sergeant Russ Yeomans said: "We executed these warrants after receiving local intelligence that such dogs were being kept at these addresses.
"We need to remove the risks that these animals pose to our community, so if you are aware of any others being kept near to you, please get in touch with us and tell us what you know."
