Work starts on Hadley regeneration scheme
Work has started on the £2.3m regeneration of the centre of Hadley, with the demolition of a number of shops and maisonettes to make way for new development.

Hoardings have now gone up around the demolition site as phase one of the regeneration project gets under way in Telford.
Demolition is due to be completed during July and construction works will start in August, with completion scheduled for summer 2013.
Phase One of the works includes the demolition of 12 units and the construction of a small supermarket – which will be a Tesco Express – and six retail units.
Telford & Wrekin Council has been working with Hadley & Leegomery Parish Council and local residents to develop the scheme for the centre to bring about much needed regeneration.
Other businesses including the post office, vets, pharmacy, dentist, Wrekin Housing Trust, Hadley under fives and the weekly market will continue to trade as usual.
Ample parking is still available off Haybridge Road for people visiting the Hadley District Centre.
Councillor Richard Overton, Deputy Leader and cabinet member for Borough Towns Development, said: “There has been significant work carried out to regenerate centres around the borough of Telford and Wrekin and I am delighted that work has now also started in Hadley.
“The works will ultimately result in Hadley having a well located, modern shopping provision to serve the local community and will help to kick start the local economy.
“This is a much needed regeneration scheme and I’m very much looking forward to the demolition being completed and work starting on the construction of the supermarket and other new shops.”
