The family of Bridgnorth murder victim Richard Sherratt today paid tribute to a ‘jovial', ‘loving' and ‘generous' man, who would be dearly missed.

Mr Sherratt's three adult children - Tom, Joseph and Jennie Sherratt - also thanked people for all the support and kind messages they had received since their father's death.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our father. He was a loving son, brother and father," they said.

"He will always be remembered for his jovial spirit, strong character and generous nature.

"Thank you for all the kind words and messages we have received."

They also thanked the police for their help and support during such a difficult time.

Mr Sherratt, 57, who had recently moved to Bridgnorth from the Stourbridge area, was found dead at his home in Old School Mews, Bridgnorth on Thursday 14 June 2012.

Three people - a woman and two men - were arrested two days later and have appeared in court charged with his murder. All three have been remanded in custody and will appear before Shrewsbury Crown Court on Monday 25 June 2012.

Police continue to appeal for anyone with information that could help their investigation to contact CID on 0300 333 3000. Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
