Three arrested and cannabis plants seized in Six Ashes
Three people have been arrested and a large number of what are believed to be cannabis plants seized in a village near Bridgnorth after suspicious activity was reported to police.
Officers attended the property Six Ashes at about 10.30am on Wednesday, after concerns was raised about a potentially illegal electricity connection at the address.
A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of production cannabis cultivation and abstracting electricity.
A woman in her 50s was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug and abstracting electricity and a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation.
Up to 1,000 plants at different stages of growth were seized from the address, along with cultivation equipment.
Detective Sergeant Lee Holehouse, who is leading the investigation, said the discovery of the plants had come following information to police that electricity was being gained illegally.
"When officers attended, they had evidence to suggest a crime may be in progress and a search was made of the premises on that basis," he said.
"Drug offences remain a priority for West Mercia Police and anyone who has concerns that there may be such crimes taking place where they live or work should contact police on 101."
