Cyclist airlifted to hospital following Prees Heath collision
A cyclist has been airlifted to hospital following a road traffic collision involving a car in Prees Heath this morning.

The incident occurred near the Raven Hotel in Prees Heath, Whitchurch at around 10.45am.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Ambulance crews were called to an incident involving a cyclist and car. An off duty nurse was first in attendance and assisted the patient before ambulance crews arrived.
“The cyclist, a man in his sixties, was treated for serious head and chest injuries.
“The patient was anesthetised at the scene by the air ambulance doctor. He was immobilised with the use of neck collar and placed on a spinal board before being airlifted to University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment.”
The hospital was alerted to the ‘critical’ condition of the patient.
An ambulance, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, together with the Midlands Air Ambulance based at Cosford attended the scene.
