The man and woman were arrested late last night by West Mercia Police officers carrying out a search warrant at a house in Wolverhampton.

They were taken into custody at Shrewsbury police station on suspicion of burglary at the gun club premises in Shipley last month in which property worth thousands of pounds were stolen.

Among the items taken were gun cartridges, clay pigeon traps, a ride-on lawnmower and a trailer.

A police spokesperson said today: "A man and a woman, both aged 21, remain in custody for questioning about the burglary. They were arrested by officers who carried out a search warrant at premises in Wolverhampton at around 11pm last night. Various items of property were also seized."
