Telford & Wrekin Council ask residents to suggest new bin locations
Telford & Wrekin Council has renewed its appeal for residents, businesses and Parish Council’s to suggest a suitable location for new litter bins to increase the number in the borough.

The 'Suggest a Bin' location scheme is part of the council’s co-operative initiative, listening and responding to local needs.
Telford & Wrekin Council spends £1.8 million each year on picking up carelessly discarded litter.
Residents can make thier suggestion up until 31 July 2012, so there is still time to put a suggestion forward.
Councillor Shaun Davies, cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services and Co-operative Council said: “We have had a great response up to date. Nearly 100 suggestions on top of the 100 sites already identified.”
“So if you can think of a suitable location please contact the council. It would also be helpful if local businesses such as take away outlets would like to make a suggestion. We would also like our partners in the Parish Council’s to make suggestions for the benefit of the whole community.”
Everyone is asked to provide an accurate location for possible bin sites. All suggested locations will be reviewed although there is no guarantee a litter bin will be installed. The council cannot install any bin on private land but would be happy to advise private landowners.
There are currently 2400 litter bins in the borough. The campaign is intended to increase this by 300.
