Telford Olympic themed Culture Fest takes place
The fifth Telford and Wrekin Culture Fest in association with Ricoh is taking place in the recently named Queen Elizabeth II Field, Telford Town Park Arena today.

The event runs from 11am to 5pm and celebrates the London Olympic and Paralympic games celebrating the UK Olympic theme – highlighting both sport and art in Telford and Wrekin.
This free festival of music, dance, sport and the creative arts will provide a showcase opportunity for talented local people and the chance for people of all ages to experience a wide range of leisure activities with entertainment on stage including Telford Community Choir and Breathe the Beat Dance showcase.
The day begins with the Be More Active Fun Run and registration takes place at 9.30am. There will also be information stands available for visitors to gain advice and information on a range of council services. The Fostering team will be on hand to promote how local people can become foster carers in Telford and Wrekin.
Councillor Arnold England, cabinet member for Telford & Wrekin Council, said: “Culture Fest is a great day out for people of all ages to enjoy. It encourages and supports people to do more, enjoy more and feel better.
“It has been great to see how popular this event has become among Telford & Wrekin residents with growing numbers of visitors and attractions year on year.
“This Culture Fest will have a slightly different twist to it this time around with the theme focusing on the Olympics. This I’m sure will be very interesting and jam packed with fun activities for all the family.”
