The victim was confronted inside the premises in Greenfield Square, Morda at around 11am on Friday.

He was threatened and then jabbed in the leg with the fork, suffering a minor wound to his shin and a cut hand. He was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Police investigating the incident are appealing for information about a silver Volvo S40 car which pulled up outside the address at around 11am on Friday.

The three offenders are thought to have arrived at the address in the vehicle. One of them is believed to have a pronounced limp.

Detective Constable Mick Everest, the investigating officer, said: "I am anxious to receive any information from people who may have spotted the silver Volvo car or its occupants near the address on Friday morning.

"I would urge them to contact Oswestry CID by calling 101. Information can also be given to the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."

A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been given police bail with conditions while inquiries continue.
