Three teenagers arrested over Shrewsbury street robberies
Police have arrested three teenagers in connection with a series of street robberies that took place in Shrewsbury during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Three youths, aged 18, 17 and 16 were arrested yesterday on suspicion of carrying out separate attacks on men walking alone in the area of the Dana footbridge and Castle Walk between 12.40am and 1.25am on Saturday.
All three victims were attacked from behind, knocked to the ground and punched and kicked in the face. They had their pockets searched before the attackers ran off.
Two of the victims suffered face injuries needing treatment at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The other had bruising.
During the first robbery, a 56-year-old man was set upon from behind as he walked over the Dana footbridge. He was punched and kicked after being knocked to the ground and his pockets searched. His assailants ran off towards Castle Foregate on finding nothing of value.
In the second incident, a 27-year-old man was attacked just after 1am on the steps from Castle Street to the Dana footbridge. His mobile phone, which fell from a pocket, was stolen. He suffered facial bruising but did not require hospital treatment.
The third incident followed a similar pattern, with a 38-year-old man struck repeatedly in the face on the Castle Walk at around 1.20am. He was treated in hospital for a suspected broken nose and fractured cheek. Once again, the offenders searched his pockets, making off with £15 and a mobile phone.
Detective Constable Chris Thomas, the investigating officer, said today: "I can confirm that three youths have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. Two remain in custody for further questioning and the 16-year-old has been given police bail while inquiries continue.
