A second person has been arrested in connection with an incident in which a 31-year-old man was stabbed with a garden fork at a home in Oswestry.

Second arrest made over Oswestry garden fork assault

The victim was confronted by three men inside the premises in Greenfield Square, Morda at around 11am last Friday. He was threatened and then jabbed in the leg with the fork, suffering a minor wound to his shin and a cut hand.

Officers investigating the incident arrested a 25-year-old man in Liverpool last night on suspicion of assault, causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was brought back to Shrewsbury and was today given police bail with conditions while inquiries continue.

It follows the arrest of a 37-year-old man earlier in the week. He too has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Police have appealed for information about a silver Volvo S40 car which pulled up outside the address at around 11am on Friday. The three offenders are thought to have arrived at the premises in the vehicle. One is described as walking with a pronounced limp.

Anyone with information should contact Oswestry CID by calling 101, or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
