Thousands set to visit 127th Oswestry Show
Thousands of people are today attending the 127th Oswestry Show at Park Hall.
Held on the first Saturday in August each year, a committee of volunteers and one part time show manager stage the popular event which promotes agriculture and rural ideas.
Visitors attending this year’s event can enjoy browsing around the Food Hall, Craft and Business Marquees as well as over 100 trade stands spread across the show ground.
Entertainment in the main arena this year includes a display of choreographed chariot races. The display will be put on by Gerard Naprous and The Devil's Horsemen.
The display has been playing to crowds all over Europe for years, with Gerard performing with some of the world's best known horses whose recent film credits include: War Horse with Stephen Speilberg, The King's Speech with Colin Firth, Woman in Black with Daniel Radcliffe and numerous TV adverts including the famous Lloyds TSB black stallion.
Admission to the show is £10.00 for adults, £7 for seniors and £5 for Children. A family ticket costs £30. The event takes place between 8.30am and 6pm.
