Man found with serious head injury at Shrewsbury Station
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was found with a severe head injury at Shrewsbury station early on Sunday morning.
Officers from British Transport Police are working to establish the circumstances leading to the man’s injury, after he was found by a member of the public at 5.40am
Detective Sergeant Shanie Erwin, the investigating officer, said: “The man was on a night out at the Buttermarket nightclub in Shrewsbury.
“Around 3am, the man left with his friend, who last saw him walking towards Castle Walk.
“He was next seen several hours later at the bottom of some steps at the Dana Footbridge by a member of the public who called an ambulance. The man was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where he currently remains in a stable condition. “
Police are exploring several lines of enquiry, including reviewing CCTV footage, and talking to the man himself to determine the sequence of events leading up to the injury.
DS Erwin added: “At this stage it is unclear how the man’s injuries came about, and so we are calling on the public to get in touch if they saw anything, or have any information.”
