A Shrewsbury-based same day courier company has appointed a new senior member of staff to help continue delivering its pledge of outstanding customer service.

New Shrewsbury courier company manager delivers the goods

Paul Hole has taken on the role of Operations Manager at DMR following a highly successful logistics career as both Transport Manager and Fleet Manager in the British Army. Paul’s new role entrusts him with day-to-day responsibility for DMR’s team of drivers and fleet of ambient and refrigerated vans. In charge of finding the best solution for each customer’s exact needs, he will be involved with analysing clients’ instructions, ensuring the pristine working order of the DMR vans, and utilising its specialised courier tracking software to monitor delivery progress in real time.

Paul’s appointment is the latest success at the same day courier company, which has gone from strength to strength following its recent shortlisting in the Outstanding Customer Service Category at the Shropshire Business Awards, as well as achieving the internationally-recognised ISO9001 Certification. With a proven track record across several senior positions in the British Army, where he provided guidance for groups of up to 1,200 trainees, had responsibility for a 150 vehicle fleet, and acted as a high-profile VIP driver, Paul is well-equipped to deliver the added-value service DMR prides itself on.

Derek Bennion, Founder and Director of DMR, commented: “Because of our ongoing success, we needed to expand the core management of the business with somebody who can cater for the complex and specific needs of our customers. Paul’s skills and wealth of experience make him the perfect addition to our team, as he completely understands our aim of providing not just 100 per cent customer satisfaction with rapid and reliable courier services, but to really get right underneath the surface and deliver the wants and needs that clients didn’t even know they had.”

Paul Hole said: “For me, the best part of this exciting new challenge is that I’ll be able to use my expertise in a real hands-on role, getting the best results for our customers. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with an incredibly diverse range of clients from not just here in Shropshire, but right across the whole of the UK, and in a variety of different industries such as utilities, engineering, and food and drink too.”
