Telford farm shop accuses Wyevale Group of trying to close it down
A specialist Farm Shop in Telford says it is being subjected to an astonishing and relentless attack from its neighbour.
Green Fields Farm Shop in Donnington, part of a small group of privately-owned farm shops, says Wyevale Garden Centre has restricted the farm shop’s access to its site and laid down a number of operational restrictions in a series of letters from London-based lawyers.
A series of solicitors’ letters since 3 August, has seen a breakdown in the relationship between the two stores with the latest development leading to restricted access for customers, staff and deliveries to Green Fields when Wyevale changed the locks and chains to the main gate.
The group have also demanded the end to Food Festivals taking place at farm shop along with removal of signage for knife sharpening.
A Wyevale spokesman said it had no alternative but to send the letters following breaches of access terms.
The owners of Green Fields Farm Shop have responded with a solicitor’s letter threatening court action to reinstate the access.
The farm shop which has been trading for over 20 years had until a fortnight ago, enjoyed a good relationship with Wyevale Garden Centre since 1997.
