Court fines Telford couple for benefit fraud
A 48 year old Telford woman has admitted five charges of dishonestly making a false statement in order to obtain increased Housing and Council Tax Benefit, to which she was not entitled.

Her 63 year old husband also admitted five charges of aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring his wife to make false statements.
Teresa and Paul Sansome, of Selbourne, Sutton Hill, dishonestly claimed an amount totalling £8,666.63 over a period of over two years and 10 months in a case brought by Telford and Wrekin Council.
Telford Magistrates Court heard that the offences related to the couple failing to declare Paul Sansome was in receipt of an army pension.
The offences took place between January 1999 to May 1999 and July 2009 to November 2011.
In addition to paying back the overpaid benefit the couple were both sentenced to a three month curfew commencing with immediate effect and ordered to pay costs of £250 each
