Witnesses sought to Bridgnorth assault
Police investigating an assault on a 26-year-old man outside a Bridgnorth wine bar, today issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The man was taken by ambulance to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford with a head injury following the incident outside Gabrielle's in Bridge Street, Low Town at around 1.30am yesterday.
Detective Sergeant Dave Meyer, the investigating officer, said it appears he had been involved in a verbal altercation inside the bar a short time earlier.
"While the man was outside the bar having a cigarette, a group of males left the bar and he was assaulted causing him to fall to the pavement. One man was seen running away from the bar over the river bridge towards Mill Street."
DS Meyer appealed for witnesses to contact Bridgnorth police station by calling 101.
He said: "There were a large number of young people drinking in Gabrielle's and we believe some saw what happened. Some witnesses have already come forward but others have not so far made themselves known. I urge them to get in touch without further delay.
"Bridgnorth CID officers are very keen to speak to anyone who was at Gabrielle's from midnight onwards on Saturday night. Information can also be given anonymously via the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
The victim suffered a jaw injury. An 18-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and has been bailed, with conditions, pending further police inquiries.
