County Channel TV launches in Shropshire
A new Shropshire based, on-demand television channel is set to launch today.

County Channel TV will deliver high quality local programmes to the people of the county and the rest of the world via the internet. Programmes will feature items on the arts, lifestyle, music, culture, history and local places of interest.
Channel co-founders Robert Harper and Geoff Ward have been developing the idea for over eighteen months, and have been greatly encouraged by the support they've been given from the creative community in Shropshire.
Geoff says: "We saw a gap in the market for interesting content which is truly local. We see ourselves as having an important part to play, not only to entertain, but to encourage individuals and groups to make programmes about the things they feel are important.
We like to think of the channel as like a good coffee house, a nice place to relax for a while, and when you leave you really look forward to going back.
The channel also aims to offer work experience and skills coaching to people starting out in the media industry, to help them get that all-important first foot on the ladder.
UPDATE: Since this article was produced in 2012 County Channel TV has disbanded.
