Roadworks close A442 Queensway between Randlay and Stirchley
The A442 Queensway is closed between 7am and 4pm today between Randlay Interchange to Stirchley Interchange as the final round of seasonal routine maintenance work takes place by Telford & Wrekin Council.

This closure is the last as part of the annual maintenance programme of the dual carriageway and its service routes that have been taking place during the past few weeks.
Diversion routes are signed throughout the closure that takes vehicles north along A442 Queensway towards the Shawbirch Roundabout and south along the A5223 Whitchurch Drive down to Jiggers Bank Roundabout and finally eastbound along the A4169/A442 Queensway down to Stirchley Interchange.
Telford & Wrekin Council chose the route so that the diversion route is via A roads, the same class of road as the A442.
Essential clean up works including highway surfacing and drainage, grass cutting, tree maintenance, street lighting, litter picking and road sweeping have already taken place on various sections of the A442 and its service routes.
Councillor Shaun Davies, cabinet member for Neighbourhood Services and Co-operative Council, said: “Telford & Wrekin Council apologises for any inconvenience caused to local businesses, residents or visitors while the work is carried out.
“This is the last road closure of the clean up operations and we aim to keep disruption to a minimum.”
Telford & Wrekin Council has budgeted to spend £7m on the highway network throughout the financial year. Anyone who needs to contact the council about these works should call 01952 384000.
