Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident, which happened in Lexden Gardens, Belle Vue between about 2am and 6am on Tuesday 9th October 2012, to get in touch.

A white, red and black Pinarello Dogma 60.2 road racing bike worth £7,000 was stolen, along with another Pinarello bike of similar colours worth £4,000.

Also stolen were a Garmin cycle computer and several sets of wheels, including Lew Racing carbon wheels worth £2,500 and an aluminium Campagnolo set, both with Continental Competition tyres.

Two of the rear wheels stolen have Campagnolo Super Record groupsets attached, as does one of the Pinarello bikes.

Police Constable Ingrid Hall, of Shropshire's Burglary Unit, said the cycle equipment highly specialised and should stand out of anyone is offered it for sale.

"These are not your average road bikes or wheels and if anyone has information about their whereabouts or has been offered them for sale, please contact me on 101," she said.

It is likely that the offender had a vehicle to transport the items away or that there was more than one person who broke in.

Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where a reward is sometimes offered.
