Remembrance Day Commemorations take place in Shropshire
Towns and villages across Shropshire will fall silent at 11am this morning as Remembrance Day Commemorations take place across the UK.

People will join together in respect for the many men and women whom have risked their lives in past wars and those lost recently in the ongoing operations in Afghanistan.
In Shrewsbury, members of the public are invited to join the Mayor, and other civic dignitaries, at a Remembrance Sunday service at St Chad's Church at 9.45am.
A civic procession will leave the castle at 9.15am following the route of Castle Gates, Castle Street, Pride Hill, Mardol Head and St John's Hill to St. Chad's Church. The Mayor, and other civic dignitaries, will walk along with units of HM Forces and Service organisations to music from the Band of the Mercian Regiment.
There will also be a wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial in the Quarry at 11am. Buglers will sound Last Post, which will be followed by two minutes silence.
A March past and salute will follow immediately after the wreath laying ceremony on St. Chad's Terrace. Music accompanying the march past will be performed by the Band of the Mercian Regiment.
Royal Air Force Museum Cosford
The Royal Air Force Museum Cosford will be holding a Remembrance Service in Hangar 1. The service will be led by Rev (Flt Lt) Crispian Acher, Station Chaplain RAF Cosford, in front of the Comet, with Air Training Cadets and RAF personnel present. During the service there will be readings by Wing Commander Niall Griffiths, OC BSW from RAF Cosford and Dave Leek, Chairman of the Aerospace Museum Society.
Visitors to the museum are welcome to join the service for this Act of Remembrance and are politely requested, if they wish to attend, to assemble in Hangar 1 no later than 10:30am ready for the Service to commence at 10.45am. There will be a two minute silence with the sounding of ‘The Last Post’.
RAF Museum Cosford Events Executive, Nina Mitchell says:
“It is a privilege and an honour for the RAF Museum Cosford to host such a poignant service, where visitors can pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by our brave service men and women. Following the service, visitors will be able to view our Remembrance Book which lists the names of RAF Aircrew who lost their lives during the Battle of Britain in 1940.”
