Shifnal community invited to join Crime Prevention Panel
An appeal is being made to residents and business people of Shifnal to join the town’s Crime Prevention Panel, following recent major investment in the CCTV scheme.

Acting chairman Kevin Fullerton said: “We have just spent around £3,000 on further upgrades to the security cameras which are located around the town and would like to increase the level of volunteer support and participation from the local community in the running of the CCTV scheme.
“The success of the CCTV cameras has been proven in the past following the arrest of a bank robber last year and the monitoring of incidents during events such as the Carnival.
“We would like to get more input from the community and would welcome representatives from shops, banks and any organisations or individuals, to help the scheme thrive and further expand.”
Local Police Officer, Nick Allbutt commented: “With enhancements such as better picture quality, the CCTV system has helped to greatly reduce the crime figures in Shifnal and we wholeheartedly endorse and support the Crime Prevention Panel in their efforts to help provide a safe environment.”
Panel member Dee Wilson added: “We meet once a month and would be delighted if more people from Shifnal could spare an hour or so to attend the meetings or just provide suggestions and feedback on the scheme.”
