Police in Telford are investigating after an unusual incident in the ‘Aroma' coffee shop in the town centre on Friday 2 November.

Police seek Telford coffee shop incident witnesses

Sometime between 1.45pm and 2.15pm a dispute occurred between a member of staff and a female customer. The dispute escalated and the female became angry and started shouting at the female member of staff.

A police spokesman said: "The female customer involved in the dispute became so angry she knocked over several trays containing plates and some hot drinks.

"One female - aged 19 - suffered a cut as a result of being hit by one of the plates as it smashed, while a 25-year-old man was scolded by a hot drink as it was tipped off one of the trays.

"The female customer left the shop after the incident and police are keen to find her as soon as they can to speak to her about this incident. Officers are keen to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the dispute to see whether it requires further investigation.

"The woman police want to trace is described as being white, aged in her late 30s or early 40s, as having grey, short thinning hair and as wearing a grey top and blue jeans. It is believed she was in the shop with another female and a younger girl when this dispute occurred.

"The woman wish to speak with, or anyone who may have witnessed this incident, is asked to contact police officers in Telford on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 493S 021112.

"Alternatively, please remember Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you'd rather leave information without getting directly involved yourself."
