Bigger Bang for Christmas in Brookside
The annual fireworks event in Brookside is about to go off with an even bigger bang this Friday.

Activities will start at 3.30pm finishing at 7.30pm after a spectacular fireworks display on the Windmill Primary School field.
The event will start with an under 12s Christmas party at the Brookside Community Centre followed by an opportunity for visitors to enjoy food from across the world.
Between 5-6pm, the Salop Brass Band will be spreading some festive cheer. This will take place at the west end of the local shopping centre and will set the scene for the official lights switch on at 5.45pm.
The official switch on of the Christmas lights will be done by the Mayor of Telford and Wrekin and the Chair of Stirchley and Brookside Parish Council.
To put the icing on the cake, between 5-7.30pm, there will be an array of festive fayre and gift stalls around the local shops offering competitions, gift ideas and food.
For the grand finale, a DJ will be entertaining the crowds who will be gathering on the Woodlands Primary School field from 6-7pm ready for the sky to be lit up with fireworks.
The event has been organised by local resident groups such as BIG (Brookside Improvement Group) and Brookside Extra in partnership with Telford & Wrekin Council, Stirchley and Brookside Parish Council, Wrekin Housing Trust, RMP events and various partners.
These free, fun activities for all the family are part of the launch of the Co-operative Council within the Brookside community.
Councillor Kevin Guy, Mayor of the borough of Telford and Wrekin, said; "Brookside is an area where residents are very passionate about how improvements can be made to bring about a positive change.
"Not only are we working with local people we are also working with our partner agencies such as Stirchley and Brookside Parish Council, The Wrekin Housing Trust, West Mercia Police, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service to name just a few.
“I would also like to personally thank RMP events who have once again helped to support this community event by making various donations and have been giving up their time to.
"I would like to encourage local people to attend this organised fireworks display and take part in the positive activities that will be laid on as part of the Brookside Bigger Bang event."
