Jiggers Bank to be shut until the New Year
A further 50 tonne rockfall at Jiggers Bank last night is set to keep the road closed until the New Year Telford & Wrekin Council said today.

A new date for when the road from Jiggers Bank roundabout down to Coalbrookdale will re-open has not been set although the council say it will be a number of weeks away.
The council, is working on a major project to secure the rock face with netting is currently being designed and stabilisation contractors are being sort.
However, a combination of unpredictable weather and availability of firms to do the job means it is necessary for the road to stay closed for the foreseeable future.
To help local residents, a shuttle bus service from Coalbrookdale to Ironbridge has been reinstated as of today which will connect with normal Arriva bus services. This service will continue at least until January 2 on days when the Arriva services run and will be reviewed again then.
Councillor Hilda Rhodes, cabinet member for Transport and Community Protection, said: “I appreciate that this will cause a lot of inconvenience for both residents in the area and visitors to the Gorge, particularly given the time of year.
“However, the fact is that the rockface simply is not safe and we are having to design a scheme to secure it. It will be some time before this is completed and we don’t anticipate the road re-opening until some time in the New Year, although we can’t put a date on this yet.”
Jiggers Bank had to be closed after rock and other debris slid on to the road on the morning of November 28.
