A possible witness to a Shrewsbury house burglary in which jewellery worth more than £5,000 was stolen, has come forward to help police.

Man comes forward following appeal over Shrewsbury burglary

The man contacted police yesterday within hours of CCTV pictures being released with an appeal for him to get in touch.

Officers said the man in the images was passing by the home on Copthorne Road at around 1pm on 12 November, the approximate time the property was broken into.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: "We are grateful to him for contacting us and hopefully he will have information which will help us advance the investigation into the burglary".
