Thieves have stolen computers worth £7,500 during a burglary at a Bridgnorth School.

Computers worth £7,500 stolen from Bridgnorth school

Three people are believed to have placed a ladder against a wall at Oldbury Wells School overnight before smashing a window to gain entry.

Constable Steve Carr, the investigating officer, is appealing for witnesses to come forward. He is also urging anyone with information about the identity of the offenders, to contact him at Bridgnorth police station on 101 or to call the anonymous Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

He said 15 Samsung NP-R519 laptops were stolen from one of the school rooms. About £550 damage was also caused.

"The breakin happened between 8.30pm last night and 7am today with a strong possibility that it occurred at around 2.15am.

"The theft of so many computers will undoubtedly have impacted on the school's teaching schedules. I am appealing for any information which might help in tracing those responsible and in recovering the laptops".

PC Carr added: "In particular, I would like to hear from anyone who saw people acting suspiciously near the school overnight. Also, anyone offered Samsung laptops on the cheap in dubious circumstances, should notify the police."
