Shrewsbury Sports Village hosts national cycling event

Shrewsbury Sports Village is today hosting the National Trophy Cyclo Cross, on behalf of British Cycling.

Organised by the Mid Shropshire Wheelers, the cyclo cross race is a major competition in the international cycling calendar.

The event will be the 5th round of the National Series Cyclo Cross.

Residents and the local community are encouraged to come along and show their support for competitors.

Race timetable:
- Veteran Men 40-49: 10.30am
- Veteran Men 50+: 10.31am
- Junior Men: 11.30am
- Women: 11.31am
- Youth: 1.30pm (start in 4 waves)
- Senior/U23 Men: 2.30pm

Brian Taylor, Chairman of Shropshire Community Leisure Trust, commented:

“We are delighted to be hosting this prestigious event at Shrewsbury Sports Village. These exciting races are an ideal winter sport accessible to everyone, where virtual beginners can find themselves racing against national champions. We look forward to welcoming the local community to come along and enjoy the race and the Sports Village for the day.”
