A teenage girl has died following a house fire near Ellesmere.

Teenager dies in house fire near Ellesmere

The teenager died following the fire which was confined to a bedroom of the property in Bagley Marsh on Saturday night.

Emergency services including firefighters and paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service arrived at the scene around 11.30pm but were unable to save the teenager.

Two other adults were in the property at the time of the fire but managed to safely leave the property.

The house is owned by Walsall Council and used as a home for Children in its care.
