Ellesmere body thought to be missing 81-year-old man
Police investigating the discovery of a body in the grounds of Ellesmere College on Sunday afternoon, say it’s likely to be that of 81-year-old Michael Ashton who went missing in July.

Michael Ashton, aged 81, was last seen on Friday, 6 July, outside his home address in Church Street in Ellesmere. He was reported missing by neighbours when they went to check to see if he was ok.
An extensive search of the local area, failed to find Mr Ashton as concern grew for his safety.
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said today: "Subject to formal identification being carried out, we believe the body to be that of Mr Ashton. His family has been informed."
